The Catalytic Polymerization and Engineering Research Group was established in March 2015 and upgraded to the Catalytic Polymerization and Engineering Research Center in April 2023. The center is oriented towards the reengineering of industrial processes and several "stuck necks" in energy and chemical materials under the national "double-break" strategy. Technical issues, through the design and synthesis of new catalysts, the development of catalytic polymerization and engineering technology of functional polymer materials Technology, studying the structure-activity relationship between gas microstructure and macroscopic structure, committed to breaking through a series of "stuck neck" key energy material technologies, and ultimately realizing the growth technology software package . System, demonstration and promotion work to serve the country’s major needs and regional economic development. 

Representative work mainly includes: 

1) Research on the key technologies and applications of iron-based comb-branched butadiene rubber; 

2) Research on catalytic depolymerization and recycling of polyester polymer materials; 

3) Research on the synthesis and application of bio-based aconitate plasticizer 

4) Research on asymmetric resolution polymerization of chiral functional materials.

The center currently has more than 70 staff and students, with project funding of more than 70 million yuan. It has applied for more than 150 invention patents, including 6 PCT and other international patents, and has authorized more than 40 Chinese invention patents. It has published more than 60 SCI papers.
